And the Winner was....Snowbank.
So we are on our way to Jaydin's band concert last evening. The traffic was moving real slow as we were slipping and sliding our way to the school. It was during rush hour as well and the main path led to an intersection that is almost next to impossible to make a left turn on during normal weather conditions. In effort to avoid that intersection I took a new street that would allow me make a right turn onto the road that leads to the school. At any rate feeling like it was a wise decision because there weren't very many other cars on that street to deal with...I came upon a slight hill that led to the stop sign. I began breaking early in anticipation of it being slippery (keep in mind I am only going @ 10 mi an hour) and sure enough I hit some magic spot and started sliding and spinning. I noticed the traffic at the intersection and had to make the decision to crank my wheels and head for the snowbank to avoid ending up hitting other vehicles. So here we are stuck in this snowbank. I had no shovel, but had an extra large ice scraper, so I hobble out of the van (mind you I am still in that walking cast) and begin to chip away at the snow around the tires. Cars came up over the hill and yes folks...drove right on by and didn't stop to help....UGH! So I begin calling upon the name of the Lord...obviously the Lord knew I was at my breaking point because a teenage boy that lives not too far from us pulled and and asked if he could help. Yes that's right a teenager, they get a bad rap sometimes but I am here to tell you there are still some good ones out there. We had a failed attempt to push the van out of the bank, so I asked him to take Jaydin to the high school so she could get to her band concert and I would stay and figure out the van. As I was returning to the van to call Rob, I wiped out and landed flat on my back spread eagle in the middle of the road. Shortly after another gal stopped and simultaneously 2 men with shovels from across the street came to help me up and shovel me out. So with a cracked bumper and a more than cracked ego, pride, & spirit I made my way to the high school and was able to catch the concert. I was shaking so much I couldn't hold the video camera still.
The concert was wonderful and we made it home safely. Today I am quite stiff, and thankful to not have to go anywhere. So...
Dear Snow,
I am not even going to beat around the bush....it is simply time for you to go!!
Sincerely,
Ready for Spring

Dear Auntie Paula,
We are soooo sad to hear about your frustrating experience & are soooo happy that you were not serverly injured. However, we have to admit to you that we are now loving the snuggle at home snow days that we never used to get to have before mom quit her job to be home with us...therefore we are secretly hoping for more of them...LOL!
Love you so much, Jacob & Emma
Oh Paula!! I hope you're ok. I was just remembering our accident together when I was a kid! Don't worry, I've had plenty of my own as well!
Paula...sorry to hear about your snow experience. Connor and I got stuck in their driveway in January and 2 older teenagers came to our rescue...I was so thankful for their help...but I didn't have quite the experience you did !
hope the aches and pains are going away
Michelle
