First Week of Summer Break....

PHEW!!! We have almost made it through the first week of summer. It has been a crazy switch in schedules, but we have kind of settled into our routine (well routine might be a stretch...as each day brings a new adventure).

Here are the highlights:

• Sunday...went to Des Moines to celebrate with Connor
• Monday...started the day with coop games at school with Jaydin, took Jeremey to his non-existence dental appt., took him to the eye doctor, and Jaydin got out of school at 1:15. She had on stage dance rehearsals from 4:45-8:00p on the SW side of town and Jeremey began drivers Ed on the NE side of town from 6-9pm. At about 8:30 I realized I forgot to eat today.
• Tues...Jeremey & Jaydin began Swim team practice. 6:30am and 8:30am respectively. Jeremey had 8:00 physical for his high adventure trip in July. Rob was off today...Yeah. We became proud new owners of a B flat Clarinet for Jaydin for Band.
• Wed....Swim practice again. Jeremey did a 4 mi. run after practice. He also drove for Drivers Ed from 12 -4pm, and then turned around and had class from 6-9pm. Jaydin spent most of the day playing with the neighborhood kids. I gave the girls mani & pedi's in the evening.
• Thurs...Swim practice again today. Jeremey took a 4mi. bike ride today and then helped another Boyscout work on his eagle project for a few hours. Jaydin and Rachel proposed a play date and it was so. I tried to squeeze 3 loads of laundry out of the remaining detergent and was successful. Jaydin had dress rehersal at 3pm....lasted until about 7pm. Jeremey generously went along and taped it for us.
• Today....the day we have been counting down to for 2 weeks....PAYDAY...I usually don't discuss that kind of stuff, but whew it's been a long 2 resourceful weeks. Jeremey was excited to get his hair cut. I was excited to buy a gallon of milk. Jaydin was excited to go to target and use the rest of her birthday money to purchase a new bed set. I am now forcing her to gut her room prior to us painting and putting on the new bed set....will be a couple week project I am sure. Jeremey mowed the lawn and has now taken off with friends to head to the pool and Jaydin has her official Senior Dance Show at 7pm tonight.
• Sat....we will continue with the cleaning of the room. Jaydin has dress rehearsal for her Junior Dance show beginning at 12:30pm....will last until 6pm. I think we will just relax for the evening.

I actually wasn't scheduled to work this week...at first I was somewhat offended (given my financial foo pah) but have since called my Manager and thanked her for her wisdom and foresight to give me the week off. So that was our week in a nutshell....oh except for the news of potential for Rob to be transferred to CR post office (NE side at that ) through a mutual swap with a gal that lives in Reinbeck and drives to CR to work and would like to work in Waterloo. Talk about an adventure. We have been up and down with these potentials in the past 5 years, but this one has actually made it to the process of contacting supervisors and initiating letters to all those involved. So Rob has been diligently working on that process this week. We are somewhat hesitant to get our hopes up...but if it would happen it would be a huge answer to prayer for us.
