These are the words we heard at the bonfire ceremony on Wed. night at BoyScout Camp. It was family night and we joined in for the festivities. One of the traditions is to hold the Order of the Arrow ceremony to close out the evening. The Order of the Arrow is an Honor Society for Boy Scouts. Ones fellow troop members vote for those that they see as leaders and live by the highest standards of the Boy Scout Law. This year Jeremey was honored by his troop and was "called out". He is not a member of the group yet....he will have to complete his "ordeal" which is a process that proves his worthiness to be a member of the Society. Basically this is a huge honor and we were proud to hear his name. We weren't able to take photos at the campfire ceremony as they have fire dancers and the whole hoopla...flash photography tends to blind those performing and we certainly didn't want to be responsible for the fire dancers dropping their flames and causing a larger bonfire. You'll just have to trust me that it is a very cool experience to particpate in.
Below Jeremey climbs the tower to the top and rings the bell. He earned us all a little ice cream treat by taking the challenge to make it to the top. Yeah Jeremey!

Jeremey, we are very proud of you, you are a great scout, and we love it when you cook for us when we are camping. Good luck on your next step. Gram & Grandpa M.
