snow day x2

Tuesday...school called off....but by 8am the neighborhood kids were ringing the doorbell. "Is Jaydin awake? Can she come out and play? Can we sled in your backyard?" All the sleds, snowboards and make shift sleds (basically anything flat) were gathered and the fun began. The kids had a blast. By noon they were beginning to get cold and hungry so they made their way back to their own homes for lunch and to warm up. By 1pm they were back at it going from yard to yard making snow angels, and enjoying every bit of their snow day. Wednesday....school called off again....actually almost everything called off (except the mail of course). Today everything is quiet and still outside with the exception of the howling winds. A good 8 additional inches covered the ground overnight. We are hunkered down for the day. Some baking, games, and movie watching on the agenda for today. Too cold to play outside.

9am The snow plow makes its way to our street. As it pushes the snow to clear the road a huge snowbank is formed in front of our driveway. Jeremey groans as he anticipates that today's snow will require both the snow blower and some hand shoveling. But he soon perks up when he realizes that there is $$ involved. He wisely waits until the wind dies down to clear the path. BTW...thanks grandpa for fixing the snowblower...it worked great yesterday!!
