Oh Christmas Tree....

It is our tradition to go on the weekend after Thanksgiving to cut down our tree. Here we go with saw in hand, to trek through the snow and blowing wind in search of the perfect tree.

After trekking through the snow and cold we spotted the perfect tree. I have to admit, I am kind of a tree snob...it has to have the perfect trangular shape, be full all around, needles shorter so the ornaments hang nice on it. Must have a nice spike at the top to hang the angel on, and the stump of course must me straight. Jaydin always feels sorry for the "Charlie Brown" looking trees, she wants to take them home because she is sad that no one will pick them. Below Jaydin gives the thumbs up to our choice.

This is the first year in a long time that we have gotten our tree with snow on the ground. It created the perfect ambiance for the journey. Also the perfect snow for packing a snowball or two to throw. Jaydin prepares to hit her target.

We decided to put the tree up in the basement this year. We figured it was only appropriate as then our present(carpet) will be literally under the tree. Isn't she a beauty...makes the whole house smell so good. We'll have to let it dry out for a few days before we are able to decorate it.
