Special Weekend

This past weekend I rang in a new decade....I hit the big 40! When we found out Rob had the weekend off, he asked what I wanted to do. I replied that I wanted to go into exile and leave the state to turn 40. We decided it was time for a trip to see my sister Jo and her family in KC. What a blessing it was to spend the weekend with them. Not only did I get a chance to see little Jackie and spoil her up a bit, but we were able to check out their new home. (a beautiful place I might add) We arrived late friday evening and got settled in. On saturday we awoke to pancakes and giggles and Jackie smiles. Then we decided to head to a close by petting zoo. It was very impressive. That afternoon the rain came down and the guys chilled while Jo and I did a little comfort cooking. We had a wonderful dinner and I even got a candle in my apple crisp and ice cream and had happy birthday sang to me. On Sunday I slept in and awoke again to smiles and giggles from Jackie. Jolyn had made an awesome breakfast casserole....what a treat. We headed for home about noon. On the way home I recieved many birthday calls and wishes. So a birthday that I was sorta dreading turned out to be a very special one for me. Thanks to Jo, John & Jackie for the hospitality and giggles, smiles, & snuggles. Thanks to Rob and the kids for making my birthday wish come true, and thanks to all who sent greetings and warm wishes my way. I am blessed beyond measure.
