Linn Mar's best kept secret is what I was told by another Band Mom...and she was right. It was an awesome evening of fun. Basically the Jazz Band holds a marathon from 4pm to 11pm. They play various selections and then have a list that you can make requests from. There is a raffle, food, and tons of fun. The event itself is free. They raise thier $$ through donations, food sales, and "tips" for requested songs. Brought back memories of my band days....Jump N Jive, In the Mood, Lewey- Lewey, Theme to Star Wars, lots of West Coast Swing music and plenty of Rock. They featured the 9th grade Jazz group that mind you has only had practice 5 times so far but sounded like they had played all year together. Also an Alumni/Parent/faculty group. As well the Jazz 1 & 11 and the Colten Center Ensamble. You know it had to be good when Jaydin stated at about 8pm that this was way more fun than staying home watching TV!!
