Whazzup Camp EWALU

This past weekend Jaydin and I and a group of 3-5th graders attended Camp Ewalu in Strawberry Point. The weekend retreat focused on Passover and learning more about communion. We had a great bonding weekend filled with cooperative activities, games, songs, skits, bible study, a sedar meal, and a campfire of course.

The cooperative course. Our group of kids successfully gets all 10 of them on a 2x2 square concrete block. Both feet had to be on the block and they had to support each other while singing row, row, row your boat.

Bible study at the lodge.

Our Sunday morning nature hike. It was beautiful, cold with flurries, but lots of fun.

Our group of kids and adults from our church that attended.

I am always amazed at how much the kids grow during these experiences. It is a joy to be able to be a part of thier faith walk. Many laughs, much teamwork, and special times bonding. I had a moment when I realized that this will be the 2011 Confirmation Canoe Trip group. I can't wait!!!
