Our Neighbors left for holiday break and hired Jeremey to shovel and collect any packages while they were gone for the two weeks. Well on the day after they left a box from flowers.com arrived. Suspecting that it was fresh flowers, I called the florist and explained the situation and asked them to come get the flowers and then redeliver them in 2 weeks when the neighbors returned home. The customer service rep. said that the flowers were sent from Illinois and therefore couldn't be picked up, I then asked if I kept them in the refrigerator if he thought they would last. He chuckled and said No, told me to just open the package, enjoy the flowers and save the box for when the neighbors returned home and have them call and they would resend the bouquet to them as well. So above are the beautiful red and ivory tulips that I was able to enjoy for the holidays.
Christmas Eve
Our tradition is to go to 5:30p Christmas eve service, and then come home and open gifts from the Burley Family. We then eat some pizza and watch the annual "its a wonderful life" movie. Well this year turned out to be a little different. I worked in the morning and when my Manager was coming into the Mall she was run over by the snow truck. Yes, she was physically hit by the plow. It was awful, she was laying flat on her back in the parking lot and couldn't move. After much choas An ambulance arrived and took her to the hospital. As is turned out she has a broken shoulder. She will be down for quite a while, but is fortunate that it wasn't worse. So I ended up working until we closed that day at 6:30p. We ended up opening gifts when I got home, grabbed a bite to eat and then went to 9pm service at church. We were tired when we got home and decided to hit the hay instead of watching our movie.
Christmas Morning...." Wii "made the good list again this year! Our day was spent doing a little golfing, bowling, boxing, and playing the new board games that we recieved. We stayed in our Jammies all day and enjoyed turkey dinner and naps.
The Mehmen Cousins gather around the tree for the annual Chirstmas photo at the Farm. (L-R top to bottom...Alex, Jeremey, Jackie, Heather, Krystin, Jaydin, Olivia, Connor, Jacob, Emma, and Austin). Every year we all gather at the farm to celebrate Christmas. This year we were able to get together the weekend after Christmas. It was great to spend quality time with my siblings and to also spend some time playing with the nieces and nephews. We got in our annual game of scrabble as well many other card games and lots of snacking, visiting and eating some really good food! After snapping the photo above, my batteries in my camera died, so that's all I have to show for the festivities. Feel free to log on to my sister's blogs (side bar of mine) to see more photos. We rang in the New Year in style....lazy style that is. I worked all day and Rob and the kids played Wii all day. We rented some movies for the evening and has some snacky foods for supper and then managed to keep our eyes open (most of the time) until midnight. At which point we shared our happy new year hugs and went to bed!! Oh yeah and recieved our New Year call from Rob's brother John....He still had an hour to go in order to ring in the New Year in Pheonix. Here's to a prosperous and healthy new year!!
