Clash Day ?!?!?

So it is homecoming week here at Linn Mar. Today Jeremey started his weight training for swim team...at 6am (yawn). That means he was up at 5:15 getting dressed and getting his stuff together. I noticed that he had on a pair of blue jeans, a black tshirt, and a nice wrinkle resistant button up shirt (blue & black striped) worn open. Looking pretty fine I thought to myself, wonder what the deal is cause usually he just wears tshirts and jeans...always nice looking but pretty casual. So I mentioned to him that he may want to just wear his gym clothes to school and fold up his nice clothes to put on after he has his work out and showers(reminding him that for the benefit of others it would be best if he DID shower after the workout) anyway just told him it would be easier since he wouldn't have a ton of time to change before hand. He agreed and then asked me what I thought of his outfit...with excitement I said looks great...What's the occasion? (thinking ahh he has turned a corner and wants to dress up a little more. must be a girl) He proudly says to me "well it clash day today". I kind of wrinkled my forhead and he continued to say "don't you think this clashes pretty well?" I was speachless, as this was an outfit that really looked great together. I asked him if he meant clash as in not going together? He responded yes, no one would ever wear this nice shirt with a pair of jeans!...I had to inform him that alot of people Do wear that and that he misunderstood what was meant by clashing. I explained that it meant that you would put on an obnoxious print bottom with a pattern top of a different color that you would never wear together. So he asked if I would help him pick something out that clashed....well as many of you know the boy only wears solid colored clothes of conservative colors that all match...literally nothing in his wardrobe clashes. So the best we could do was to wear green army cargo shorts with a red and gray tshirt and put a nice short sleeve dress shirt that had a diamond pattern on it together... and truly I tell you it didn't really look that bad together. Oh the innocence of a conservative kid who always tucks his dress shirts and belts his khakis, or wears jeans and solid t-shirts. On the upside, I don't think I'll ever have to worry about him going goth. Tomorrow is Rock star day...needless to say I think he is skipping that one. And Friday is Show your spirit day...He'll go crazy and wear his Linn Mar t-shirt.
