About 6:30PM we arrive home from filling our tummys with yummy spaghetti at the school. The guys got busy in the basement and jaydin and started cleaning up the kitchen. The phone rings and Jaydin's friend Chaele is on the line asking if our family would like to come over to her house for family game night. Well the guys were heavy into the mudding and corners...so Jaydin and I went over. I know Chaele's mom from school but otherwise really didn't know her family. Upon arrival there are cars filling the driveway, kids coming down the sidewalks, everyone heading to the Spittle family game night. The kids got a game of Apples to Apples going and the adults/high school kids were playing a game called Settlers. This was a new board game for me...had never heard of it, but was great fun and required strategy...my favorite kind of game. I met a lot of new people and it was obvious to me that the Spittle's welcoming hospitality and desire for wholesome family friday night fun was the reason that this was the house on the block to be at. We ended up playing until about 11pm. Jaydin came upstairs to let me know she was tired and ready to head home for bed...I however was at the peak of building settlements and really didn't want to leave yet. Suddenly this turned into the adults negotiating with the kids to let me stay and finish out the game.
Thank you to the Spittle Family/neighborhood...we hope the whole family can come next time!!
