Happy Halloween to all...As tradition holds, Jeremey and I stayed home to hand out candy to all the ghosts and goblins in the neighborhood. 78 kids this year. It was a beautiful night for being out and about. Rob took Jaydin out trick or treating agian this year. It was a shorter trip as she was home sick from school today. Took her into the Dr. this AM and step test came back negative. Fluids and rest for her. This afternoon her fever broke and she was feeling a lot better. We figured it wouldn't hurt to let her walk down the block and back....she landed a bag full in just that short trip. She dressed up as a smore (tried to download the photo, but not going through tonight) will attempt to post tomorrow. She said that everyone told her that she would win the most original costume of the night. I have to say the award for most original hand out of treat for the night goes to whomever handed out battery operated toothbrushes to the kids! Great idea, she was pretty excited to use it after tasting a couple candies.
Halloween always holds a special place in my heart, as it reminds me of going into G'ma Mehmens house and meeting up with all the cousins and going trick or treating throughout the small town of Plainfield. G'ma would let us take turns handing out the candy to those that rang her doorbell and she was diligent about tallying how many kids came to the door. I find myself tallying the kids and reflecting on years past as I enjoy seeing all the cute costumes and kids full of joy. I am always amazed at the manners....always a thank you and happy halloween greeting. My neighbor was not around for the evening and she set out a big bowl of candy on her bench....It was amazing how each group of kids that went to her house would remind each other that they should each only take one.
Hope you all had a joyful evening!

Since when did Jeremy start staying home and handing out candy? I think I went out for candy until I was about 14 or 15 - at which point I became too cool to do that anymore.
