No I am not talking about the stock market...I am talking about our computer. If you have been wondering why there hasn't been a post in a week, well...last Wed. night our computer has a virus attack it. It shut down and then started doing this really weird loop. So I called tech. support and they helped me get my files backed up before we recovered the system. What we thought to be a successful back up ended up being not so much. So yes I lost everything on the computer. All my pictures, documents, etc. In the big picture of life ...not a big deal, just annoyed that I spent many an hour on the phone with tech support and many an hour downloading ineffective back up discs...all to conclude that yup...the back up discs were currupted too. Nothing could be done...the poor tech support guy couldn't even bring himself to say it outloud...he hampered and stampered and then I finally just said..."just say it...I've lost it all right?" He kindly said yes and then asked if I was interested in purchasing a really cool attatchment for $150 that would be able to back up my files each night on a seperate computer....yeah NO! Thanks anyway.
So I would post a picture of the progress of the basement, but oh yeah....I lost them all and will have to re download all 750 of them and that will take about 5-6 hours. So you all will have to wait on that one. Not that I'm bitter or anything.
Here's the run down on the last week: On the 15th I went to work as I had written on my calendar that I worked M-W-TH....only to find out that I was really scheduled M-TH-F...but they were slammed with 75 boxes of shipment, a major floorset, and the start of a down event sale...so my manager said she could use me if I was willing to stay. So I did. So I ended up working M-W-TH-F of last week. On friday night Jaydin and her Friend Rachel and I went to the movie "Beverly Hills Chuwawa" Very cute movie. Saturday I did some major painting of floorboards and trim. On sunday Jeremey had Confirmation rehersal and a swim team social, as well I had a parents meeting for swim team in the evening. In between time Rob put up some trim boards, and we determined that we were going to need to buy some more as we sheetrocked in areas that previously had paneling and quarter round, as well built in bookcases that covered the corners. Monday was fairly uneventful, I worked again and then we plugged away at the bathroom floor upstairs and also began to do some touch ups on the painting and Rob worked on the basement bathroom. Tues. I went to purchase some more trim boards only to find out that they don't make 3" boards anymore....only 2 3/4 or 3 1/4 boards. Much to my frustration I ended up purchasing enough to redo the entire bottom trims in hopes that we could salvage enough of the remaining ones at home and shift them up to the top as trim. It all worked out, but I must admit I was about at my breaking point. Meanwhile it dawned on my that I hadn't even ordered a cake for Jeremey's confirmation this weekend...so I buzzed over to Hye Vee and got that accomplished. Pretty much have just been spinning in circles over the last week. Today an angel called...Dad called and offered to come down and help get the final details done prior to the carpeting coming tomorrow am. Bless his heart, he traveled down and helped Rob put up plastic on the porch so that we could move all the furniture from the living room out there and pull up the old carpet in the living room. They got all the furniture moved and got the carpet and pad pulled up...there were beautiful hardwood floors below, almost tempting to leave them, but then again it was pretty echoey and cold feeling, would require the purchase of an area rug and some refinishing....too much work, I think we'll stay with the carpet plan. Tonight we got the basement bathroom floor tiled and all the staples out of the floor, the doors all removed and eveything swept up. It is all ready for the morning for the big carpet install....Yeah, I can't wait. Well, that's all I know for now. The next couple days will be spent moving everything back into place and getting things ready for Jeremey's big confirmation celebration this Sunday.
TTFN...hopefully I will get all my programs reinstalled over the next couple of days as well.
